Toyota Celebrates a Decade of Partnering with Michigan Habitat for Humanity

Last week, Toyota Motor North America Research and Development (TMNA R&D) announced that it was doubling its commitment to Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley by providing the funding for full house renovations for two single Ypsilanti mothers. This year, more than 300 volunteers will help renovate the two homes to honor the partnership between the company and the charity.

The $80,000 investment will provide homes for Adriana Pence and Tiffany Cole. Pence, who moved to Michigan in 2013 and is employed by the University of Michigan, is a single mother of a 6-year-old daughter; Cole is a single mom of a 1-year-old son and expecting her daughter to be born any day now. As with all Habitat homeowners, both Pence and Cole are required to complete 250 sweat equity work hours, provide a $1,000 down payment on their house and attend financial management and home maintenance classes.

At Toyota of Brookhaven, we're proud to be affiliated with an automaker that believes so strongly in supporting community organizations. We invite drivers from the Brookhaven, McComb, Silver Creek, Crystal Springs and Byram areas to come check out our new Toyota inventory.
